PROFILE
Tim Xia was born in Ningbo, China. Throughout his elementary and high school years, he was a top student. With his high scores, he attended Peking University from 1979 to 1983 and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). Thereafter, he pursued graduate studies in law at Fudan University – another prestigious university in China. Tim graduated from Fudan with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 1986.
In August 1987, Tim came to Canada to pursue his further legal education at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He was awarded a full scholarship by one of the Seven Sister law firms, Osler Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. At UBC, Tim graduated with both a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in 1990 and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 1993.
Upon his graduation from UBC, Tim articled with a Vancouver law firm Ferguson Gifford. Tim was admitted to the Bar of the Province of British Columbia in 1994. • Since his call to the bar, Tim practiced law with Carr-Harris & Company, a leading Personal Injury law firm and with Kajoba & Company. From 2001 to 2002, Tim also served as a part-time research fellow with the UBC Institute of Asian Research chaired by Professor Pitman Potter. Tim founded TX Law Firm in June 2010 and has practiced there since then. • Tim has solid legal education and training, holding four law degrees from his native China and in Canada. He has over 20 years of rich practice experience and has dealt with clientele in B.C. and beyond. In 2010, Tim was called to the Ontario Bar and holds a practicing membership.
